The character in the song commits a crime in Nevada and does time in Cali. Doesn't make sense to me. Just a mindless observation from one with way too much time on his hands. Cheers!

The spooky thing about that song is that when he recorded it at Folsom Prison, and sang that line, the inmates immediately whooped & hollered!

(It is a great album though)
