Made ranch dressing spices pork chops. They were really good. The sauce

https://www.eatingonadime.com/instant-pot-boneless-pork-chops-recipe/

Has a lot of butter in it as well as water. My dad in the nursing could not stop himself from eating the sauce. The 6 chops were extra thick and I put them on for 8 minutes with 1.5 cups water. I would cook them less next time. I added chunks of carrots and sliced new potatoes too. Those too could do with less cooking time. I was really pleased with it and will make it again and try and tweak it by changing the timing and replacing water with chicken stock. I would also use less butter. I used two packages of gluten free ranch dressing spices by hidden valley ranch. Which was double what the recipe called for. It was really expensive online. You can make your own ranch spices from scratch and I think I will do that next time if I can find gluten free ingredients and store it. We will be having this often.

I recently got an instant pot but I haven't used it yet because of my fear of pressure cookers. But this looks so good that I might go for it, and hide under the furniture while it's cooking.

kitchen when my mom used her old time one 40 years ago. I bought this because people said it was safe and easy. And it is. I have the Insta pot ultra. You can go to many online tutorials. Their electric cord is less than two feet long so nobody trips over it and knocks it to the ground. Means you have to put it on the kitchen counter. The lid is round and locks into place. You just turn it and it locks in. You can turn it on if it is not locked on. There is a button you push to release the steam nossle about 3 or 4 inches away on the lid. You just push down on the button and steam is released somewhere else at a safe speed. Mine today released steam for a few minutes. I didn't have to be there. If you make a mistake and press the button to release the steam you just hit the side of the button and the middle stops releasing steam. So as long as you are not looking over the lid for some reason when you release it you are in no danger of getting burnt. The fun is in figuring out the timing and how big or small to cut the vegetables so they cook in unison with the meat. Lots of info online on Insta pot cooking times for different ingredients. I used the saute function to brown the pork chops on each side before putting the pressure cooker part on. There was quite a bit of yummy caramelized meat stuck to the bottom as I was using coconut oil for the first time and had it on high. I thought that is going to be hard to clean... maybe I can deglaze it at the end. But the pressure totally cleaned the bottom of the pan when it was on. The cooking pot was easy to clean. And it just lifts out. The lid is a little harder to clean but there are videos on that too and I'll get the hang of it. Any way. I was like you. Terrified. I assumed i would never have one. But the Insta pot is great. And other than unlocking the lid by turning it in mid cooking and injuring yourself that way I Don't think I have any chance of hurting myself. That being said I would stay in the kitchen with it if there was a child in the house. But that is just common sense. Look into the videos of the Insta pot ultra to assuage your fears. I will become the stew queen I can tell.

I wonder if I could somehow make this in a crockpot.

And I really do not have any space in my very small kitchen for another appliance.

ultra has a slow cooker function. Your slow cooker and ranch boneless pork chops. I don't know. Worth a try. Maybe make fiesta chicken but instead do boneless ranch pork chops? Instead of dredging boneless skinless chicken thighs in taco seasoning and covering them in salsa and beans and corn to slow cook you could dredge pork shops on both sides with ranch spices and just cover it in chicken stock? Add the butter near the end? I think maybe something might happen to butter after hours in a slow cooker. Never done pork in the slow cooker. I know I'm not much help. Fiesta chicken is good too in the slow cooker. You serve it with sour cream. Very good. But these are such cheating ways of cooking. And easy which I like.

It means that everything is juicy. I'm still trying to get the timing down or exactly right. I think I might try something Indian next. Apparently people in South America and Asia cooking in the modern age always used pressure cookers. So I think I will try some of those dishes but with a little less heat. It is a different way of being when things are moist moist moist.

I bet there's a huge manual to go along with it and I hate those. I also don't cook very much anymore and like it that way!
