No fault of my own, I got caught in the middle of an intersection on a red light

I could've cleared the intersection without much fuss, but when the light changed a woman in the oncoming lane decided to gun it so I couldn't pass at all, and she almost hit me. Then she yelled at me and flipped her hands up in the air, making angry eye contact as she passed in front of me. Can't really blame her for being mad.

So now I know how it feels. It feels extremely uncomfortable, and I almost had an anxiety attack. I'm ok now, though.

Ugh.

Even so, the other woman shouldn't have gunned it when the light turned red and blocked you.

I suspect many who are having a bad day show it by the way they drive when out on the road.

the two cars in front of me, which were turning left, stopped for pedestrians. I was watching the crosswalk clock count down. When I entered the intersection, there were twelve ticks left.

and allowed you to continue instead of gunning it when the light changed to block you. Had there been an accident, my guess is she would have been at fault. Just because she had a green light doesn't mean she's free to ignore the obvious.

Once you enter the intersection on a green light you have the right of way. Conversely, the green light means you may proceed, when the right of way is clear. Of course, you should always plan ahead to be able to clear the intersection before the light changes again...

I got trapped on the median, which was also a trolley line, when the driver ahead of me stopped in the middle of a divided boulevard when the light changed last summer. That wasn't good, as the trolley was coming. Luckily, the light changed again before the train got to us.
