(13,870 posts)How did they get the pups out of the country??? Vet checks? Did they have to be quarantined in the Netherlands?? The devil is in the details... I've heard the horror stories about traveling with pets...

(34,333 posts)Mainland Europe is much less strict than Great Britain. It looks like they spent at least a few weeks there. You could tell it wasn't immediate because the puppies were in danger of not meeting the under-30-pound limit to travel in the cabin. They were nowhere near 30 pounds when rescued, plus they had to secure funding and arranging a flight. They'd have plenty of time to get the rabies titers and vaccinate the pup health passports in order.
On edit: They took the puppies immediately to a veterinarian when they arrived in Dushanbe, so the process was started immediately. They made the decision pretty fast to completely abandon the rest of their trip in order to get the pups safely to The Netherlands.
