(16,850 posts)I love Sturgill for doing this and I love that Colbert is such a big fan of Sturgill. We have a group of friends that get together for breakfast every few months and usually hit the Waffle House and we typically will play this song on the jukebox. (Although I have been known to frequent in the late night/early morning hours in the past, lol)

(25,817 posts)It's my go-to place for breakfast. I don't have any where I currently live, but on various road trips I make sure I stop at a Waffle House.

(25,817 posts)Or to visit my family. In those other places are Waffle Houses, and I just love it. Only getting to one a few times a year makes it special.
Years ago, when my kids were little and I lived in a part of the country where there were Waffle Houses, we learned that they loved doing "breakfast for lunch" which was very easy to do at WH. There was also one near us where an older black woman was the greeter and called herself Grandma. At first I was a bit put off; after all she didn't look at all like my own Grandma, but after a few visits I got to love her friendliness and welcoming. It should be like that everywhere.
Whenever I walk into one I feel as if I'm home.
