Not there yet. It's been 2 months and our rescue Aussie has made great strides with our old cats, but he's still very jealous and they are still not trusting him from when he first chased and barked at them in an aggressive scary manner. It took about a month to stop that behavior.

For a long time we had 2 cats and 2 dogs and they all had learned to love each other. A year after the 2nd of our old dogs passed, we got a 6 year old rescue cat in May then a 3 year old rescue Aussie the day after Christmas. I'm really hoping we can get back to being the love family again sooner rather than later!

There are three barn cats that come to the house occasionally to be petted and fed. The dogs will chase only those three. They basically ignore all the others that hang out, and will even love on the pupsters.

My first Lab and our adopted kittens got along beautifully.

The two older cats, who grew up w/o a dog, hated our pupster and never grew to trust her even though they saw her gently play with the kittens.
