I've been bringing in some pots to start planting new herbs, and look what I found

A brand new little tomato plant has germinated! Kind of an early start, since it's just mid-February, but I'm going to do my best to keep it growing.

brought several hot peppers in buckets in the house for the winter, and now one of them has 3 tomato seedlings. about 3" tall.
cant resist keeping it.

spring is in full swing here on my little urban farm.
tons of peppers up, transplanting away, and 3 doz plus fantastic purple sweet potatoes growing.

I'm going to start some plants from seeds, next month. I would love to be able to get the plants in the ground by mid-May.

i have to start early. have to shuffle things through seedmats, etc.

peppers can never be too big, and they can be sketchy, so i get them going in early as i can. mid january usually.
sweet potatoes that i kept from last year go when they go. i just potted up 3 doz+ of the tastiest, prettiest purple tuber ever. the earlier the better as the season is barely long enough for them here.

perennial herbs up now.
will do some cold tolerant stuff next, so i can get that in the hoop house.
then maters. maters, maters everywhere.

gonna get a new pop-up greenhouse for the roof soon. things will be safe there mid april i think.
i desperately need a real greenhouse.

drumph fatigue has really been getting to me. i am so glad to be growing.

made a pie for thxgvg, and omg. what a pie. so striking. so good.

the purples were the only ones that came up, but i am fine w that. they were the ones i really wanted.
it's one thing i have had sourcing. ornamentals are pretty easy, but offbeat eaters come and go. this is the first time i have managed to keep them over winter and grow me own.
so very excited.
