How to give your dog drugs

1. Chicken works for us

Our dog gets 3 different prescription medications. What works for us is crushing them, them mixing them with shredded boiled chicken, along with the broth from cooking the chicken. Our dog loves it, and eagerly watches my wife while she prepares each dose to give to our dog. If we are late with the dose, she will start doing a fake cough (some of the medicine relives a chronic cough). We don't know how she associated the chicken with relieving the cough, but she did.

4. My dog would lick the peanut and leave the pill on the floor.

5. Yah, one of our first wiener dogs could find a pill in ANYTHING.......he'd take the pill filled

offering eat it so fast and two - three seconds later the pill would plop onto the floor. The next wiener would gobble it down, pill and all, and no pill drop out. All we’re so different, but they ALL did love the peanut butter offering.

6. Mine does that with cheese

Unless the pill is very, very small.
