German movie Never Look Away

I saw this movie yesterday and really loved it. It is a German film with English subtitles that covers the period of Pre-WWII to Post-WWII Germany about two German art students who fall in love, the girl's father, who has devestating secret, vows to end their relationship. While it is long at 3 hours it is well worth watching. The cinematography, costumes, script and so on are amazing. A beautifully done film that manages to incude some suspence that will have you at the edge of the seat as it gets closer to the end. As some of the plot threads pull together in interesting ways you realize that the world is a smaller place then you think.

It is well known what the Germans did in the death camps, this film shows you the impact of the Nazis and Communists on the art world and what the Germans did to their own people as well.

It was about the filmmaker and the artist. Long but very interesting. Well worth looking for.
