I'm sure it's a tribute but SNL pre-show is re-running Luke PERRY hosting, *jarring* to me

From the '90s. I'm sure that it is seen as a tribute, but it's *jarring* to me just for the newness of the passing. I never followed his career, never saw him in anything, not even in a talk show interview, nothing. I knew so little about him that I was surprised by the outpouring of how well thought of he was. On second thought, it isn't just the newness of his passing because in the same episode Phil HARTMAN (my fave) and Chris FARLEY are both featured and jarring (to me).
