South-paw Dick Dale initially played a right-handed Stratocaster Leo Fender gave him, upside down. Later, Leo hooked him up with a left-handed guitar, The Beast, but he restrung it right-handed as was his custom. Many would argue he produced his wicked sound that few could replicate because of his unorthodox setup.
