A guitar player showed up at our weekly Sunday jam at my house.

This guy was really good. I play rhythm and I guess he liked my stuff.
Before he left he told me he wanted me to play a few gigs with him
and he handed me a four page song list. About 120 songs. Yeah, sure.
I know maybe a quarter of them. I have my work cut out for me.

That happened to me way back when I was in college. Some guy passing through doing a gig was on campus trying out some of his songs. I had a guitar with me, and joined in. He recruited me to be his "lead" guitarist for the rest of his gigs in the area.

One time maybe 15 years ago, at a New Year's gathering, just after the new year had been rung in, Theodore Bikel (THE Theodore Bikel) told me to grab a guitar, and we would find an empty conference room and sing Russian songs. No one besides my wife and two South Carolina janitors saw or heard it. But for close to an hour, I had one of the coolest gigs any non-professional could ever want to have. For an hour I was (the VERY junior) half of a duet that would get together exactly once. My wife knew what was going on. One of the two janitors said, "I don't know what y'all are singing, but you sure know how to sing it." Yeah, Theo Bikel knew how to sing. That's like observing that Mickey Mantle knew how to play baseball.

I'd love to hear your stuff.
All the best.
P.S.--I'm 68 and starting time (9 PM) is my normal bed time.
All the other guys are younger.
