When you've lost your own Mother and there are not others in your family, it is a tough day because no one really considers that... But, now the memories sustain me and I celebrate Mothers of all kinds, including those from the animal kingdom and our own cross-species role in "Mothering" our furry family members....

I posted this earlier. It somehow makes me feel part of that much larger Earthly family.

And the third for my husband without his. My oldest sister who was a mother died in 1993. I have sisters in law, a niece in law, and nieces (on my husband's side) who are mothers but that is not the same.

we celebrated all mothers, grandmothers, aunts, daughters and sisters. Basically a celebration of all women and what we do in and for the world.

On Father's Day, we do the same thing for all the men of the church.
