newly adopted doggo picture time

Meet Harley. Don't let the camera angle fool you, he is BIG. He is a <1y/o GSD who has no concept of his size or strength.. He is insanely sweet though! . and he thinks he's a lap dog, so... yaaaaaaay.

Bright shiny and alert eyes, wet nose, ears at attention, beautiful color and his front paw ready to move forward or shake hands. He looks like he’s ready to play or chase a stick or catch a ball.

He will connect with you like no other dog, and in no time will become all you ever wanted in a dog. I have had a number of GSDs over the years and every one have stolen my heart. I am sitting out at the fire pit with my Greta tonight, and enjoying the frogs at the pond. Life is so good.

they were both senior so I got all the awesome training, and got to give them a happy retirement and they both floored me with their intelligence. I put my second, Cody, down about 5 years ago and couldn't do another rescue.

I saw this guys pic last night on the shelters facebook and saw those eyes and never had a puppy and just had to meet him

There's no "think" about it!

Congratulations on your new friend, and thank you for adopting from a shelter. I love his name.

eta: If anyone knows of an amateur photographer with time, pets get adopted more quickly if the shelter has a good picture like this one. Taken by someone with some skill and the time to get a good shot, which shelter employees don't always have. I have a friend who does this.

we adopted what we thought was a 7-month-old Labrador mix puppy as a playmate for our other dog,. He kept growing and we had his DNA tested. Turns out he is a Sasquatch: a Malamute/Great Pyrenees mix.

He is the sweetest dog, but until he got older, arthritic, and chubby (he has epilepsy, so one of his meds makes him constantly hungry) he also thought he was a lapdog. The trick was he was a dog who could sit on your lap and still have all four feet I the floor.

But I have to take exception to the "chubby" comment. HE'S BIG BONED.

I'm sure that you regret your error.

It was especially evident when he had his last cluster of seizures three months ago and I had to lift him into the car to get him into the vet office.

Grand daughter has a Rottweiler. Thinks he is a lapdog. Try getting up with a full grown Rotty on your lap if he doesn't want to move!

Adopted 2 dogs from a litter ourselves, no one wanted them because . . . . colour.

First thing they learnt as puppies is that, on a cold night, crawling under the duna is so much more comfortable.
Thing is, they grew bigger . . .
Wife now sleeps on the couch. No room for her in the queen sized bed.
(Also helps her get away from my snoring. Dogs don't mind though.)
