Hummingbirds like warm weather. We ( Missouri, ugh) never see them until it gets consistently warm.

Our first arrived May 3, coastal Massachusetts and about one week later than normal.

I would think they'd be close to your area very soon.

In the mean time, happy waiting.

that is IF they have returned in their migration to your location.

that feeder contains sugar water, and will ferment if you leave it out too long.

why do humming birds him?

Upper Midwest. Tried everything: different feeders, locations, food types, planting hummer-specific plants. Then last year, hit it right; had hummers right throughout fall.
Read up. If you can’t keep feeder clean and refreshed every 3-5 days, take it down.
First hummer arrived 4 days ago. Fly-by, not feeding. Immediately took feeder down for cleaning..

We have hummers year-round. The things that we’ve found affect their presence/visits/use most is the feeder itself — some designs simply perform poorly as far as attracting them, and the mix — we use pure cane sugar (1:3 ratio with untreated water).
