God, I hate the LL Bean commercial...

The two preppy couples canoe racing to the boat dock in beautiful Maine country. The men rowing and the women coaching and yelling. The preppy winning guy says "We are in it to win it!" and I want to just throw up.

Nothing against Maine. The optics of the commercial are gorgeous. But it still annoys me.

And I LIKE LLBean! So I guess I'm just like that guy (no way, I am a native Texan). But it still gets on my nerves for some reason...are we supposed to identify, if we are white, with these idiots?

Or am I wrong and this is a gentle humorous poke at people who like LLBean?

broadside is setting a good example for safely using one of their products.

Other than that, I think the ad is generally kind of silly.

with their ad where five campers were sleeping in hammocks between two trees, one above another. That wasn't my concern, though. The ad showed the campers waking in the morning, and there was a still smoking campfire in the scene. Any decent camper knows to completely douse their campfire before retiring for the evening. What they were depicting could actually be a dangerous situation if the campfire had sprung back to life during the night.

LL Bean was very receptive to both the e-mail I sent and the call I made to their corporate offices. Although they used it regularly before my contact, I never saw that ad airing again afterwards.
