So one day we took a field trip to the local university library where they had a huge collection of actual magazines since the 1880s. I figured he would love to see some contemporary reporting on the war, plus see what else was happening at the time of the war.

He was @ 13 at the time. It was quite the fun and interesting day for both of us.

About 3 hours into our day we were looking at some TIME magazines from @ 1942. We were looking through whole magazines page by page to get a flavor of what life was like at that time. And low and behold we found that TIME had a weekly feature of a cats photographed doing the strange things that cats do.

We then spent many minutes indulging ourselves in cat pictures. Even during the war cats provided much needed relief.
