... in Colorado Springs. Late snows are common here, but not this late, and it wasn't our famous "champagne powder": It was the very wet and heavy stuff, and it's caused the worst tree damage I've seen in the 27 years we've lived here.

(1,369 posts)and we had 4" of very wet snow which is almost all gone now . Temperature is 40 degrees.

(10,775 posts)... and that's before we see the damage to the roof. About 1/3 of my neighbor's 50-foot-tall tree is on her roof. We were lucky; just lost the top half of a 12-foot cherry tree, and light end of a branch from my neighbor's tree fell on my wife's car without causing any damage

(4,927 posts)I remember some pretty cold and windy winters. There were times it was worst than Alaska (where I lived the previous 3 years). Had to walk to school and cross Academy Blvd. Once it was so windy and the road so icy had to literally crawl across the blvd....now THAT was fun!
