(34,131 posts)I hope she picked up the can to dispose of it properly so no other animal would get caught by it.

(1,233 posts)Cutting a black racer out of some garden netting she got tangled in last week. Beautiful animal. She let us handle her for awhile after we got her free, and then slithered away into the tall grass.
We always try to rescue animals in distress, even if we are scared of them. We relocate the ones who pose a threat to our chickens- possums and raccoons mostly. I would hope that someone would do the same for me if I somehow ended up somewhere I shouldnt be.

(11,686 posts)I am so glad she saved it despite being afraid of it. I am not afraid of any animal including bugs. I drive my friends nuts because when a creature is in the house theirs or mine I catch it and put it outside instead of killing it.

(22,005 posts)We used to get rattlesnakes on occasion. I had a "snake bucket" with a lid. I would pick them up with a rake, put in the bucket, and put the lid on quickly. Then take them to the backside of my farm, and turn them loose.
Only had to kill two...... One insisted he was going to be having my little blind barn cat. The other one hit one of the Mini-Doxies, and he died overnight in the emergency clinic. That one lost his head the next day, when he had eaten something so big he got stuck in the fence. He was 5 ft at least.
The one in this clip doesn't look poisonous. I thought at first he had his head in the can looking for something to drink. How in the world did his tail get stuck in there?
I like snakes. I have to save my husband from them though.
