(29,322 posts)We we foreclosed on the week we watched the series. We left off the season where the women were the focus of the show.

(4,515 posts)Read a review a few hours ago and they said it was great, just as good as the series.

(41,915 posts)Ian McShane is a god (literally on American Gods) and Swearingen one of the best characters ever. And Robin Weigert! ❤️ DAMN that was fabulous.

(101,701 posts)From a Entertainment Weekly review:
Milchs Alzheimers diagnosis leant impossible poignance to Als own health problems, and to this whole project. The real Deadwood burned in 1879, historical reality that beckoned the original series toward conclusive brimstone. This movie skipped over the fire straight into rebuilt civilization and ended with snowfall, everyone frozen one sparkling night. Nostalgic, surely, and I wonder what sort of ending Milch wouldve crafted years ago, if there was a version of Deadwood that ended with more complications than Everybody We Like vs. Hearst.

(41,915 posts)How sad, and what a gift for us. I did notice some brick buildings that hadnt been before.
I was so happy for Jane and sad for the rich but lonely widow. And Charlie always did seem the guide somehow.

(3,275 posts)I didn't know that there was a film. This makes me so happy. I don't have a TV right now but I can put it on my list of stuff to watch later.
