River in the summers when I was little and I would take a bag of peanuts, just like her, and go sit out on the porch and feed the chipmunks. Except there were a lot of them and they were very friendly. I loved how they stuffed their little cheeks and they would run away and come back.

They would even run up my arm and perch on my shoulder to get more attention. I wasn't afraid of them at all. I felt like I had a bond with them (of course, I was feeding them) and they trusted me. It was the highlight of my summer! They aren't quite as aggressive as squirrels and much friendlier. They are really adorable little creatures.
