they could puncture through inflated types.
Our dogs have a hard plastic Little Tykes one to play in (gotta love freebies) that we picked up alongside our road a couple of Summers ago. We figured it might help our grands be able to keep their big inflatable holding water for a bit.

I may still get a hard plastic pool, that don't hold as much water. But the hard plastic pools don't fold up nicely like these inflated ones do. This little guy is having so much fun in the pool!
