When a clown doll landed in this woman's backyard, she burned it and slept with a knife

HARRINGTON PARK - A Bergen County woman burned a toy version of Pennywise the Clown after it floated into her backyard Saturday afternoon. Spooked, she slept with a knife that night.

Renee Jensen was sitting in her yard talking to her boyfriend, Alex, when she spotted a cartoon model of Pennywise “come flying out of the sky and land on the other side of our fence,” she wrote on Facebook.

“I was like, ‘what the heck,’ ” she said. “Something just came out of nowhere. It like flew out of the sky without hitting any of the bazillion trees on our property.”

Pennywise is the shapeshifting creature from “It.” In Stephen King’s original novel and the subsequent TV and film adaptions, the clown terrorizes children.
