Remembering Groucho

He died August 19, 1977.

Someone once told him he was public nuisance. He said I didn't know that, how much does it pay?

The world could use him these days.

A tense day in a surgical waiting room. There was a TV there. I turned it on to the local college's station. They played the very old shows, including an hour of "You Bet Your Life" with Groucho. Just happened to catch the start of that hour.

Within 5 minutes we were rolling. The show lightened our mood. The surgery was successful. Grouch has us in stitches also.

On his customs form, where it said "occupation", he wrote "smuggler". Where it said "Do you have anything to declare?", he wrote "Wouldn't you like to know!". He got away with stuff others couldn't.
