I smile update on 06:27 post trials and tribulations of ninth grade

We saw the yellow bus coming down the road. I looked at the kids all of them and said have a good day. Inner thoughts oh geez the ride to ninth grade I’m reading on faces. High school day 2 no end in sight to this lunacy and confusion.

The bus stops door opens the blare of the bus drivers country and western music, and every kid walks like they’re boarding the landing craft ,that will take them across the English channel on that fateful day. Heads down shoulders slumped backpacks riding low except one child max he is happy walking with a spring in his step. Max truly makes me smile he is so light in heart.

I walk back to the house and turn around, expecting a glance or wave from at least from our two sons. Nothing not even a slight glance , they are sitting staring straight ahead. I notice my boys are not even putting in ear buds to drown out the country and western music.

( People this is serious )
