Been there, seen that, done that for more years than I care to remember, before starting my own business in 2001.@bananabeltbetty
Tattoos should actually make you more employable because it shows you can sit in place for hours while tiny needles are jammed into your skin and thats what every corporate meeting Ive ever been in has felt like

(3,390 posts)It went something like this: I think men with piercings are better dating prospects, because theyve shown that they can endure pain and buy jewelry.

(658 posts)It took me almost 20 years to realize how much I hated my IT job. I quit a year ago, went back to school, started working as an electrician and I must say I've never been happier. Meeting after meeting, after meeting. I can tell you that 20 years ago it wasn't that way. Not sure what's happened to the mentality of management, but I guess they think that meetings are productive in some way. Certainly an occasional, strategic meeting can be productive, but eight one hour meetings in an eight hour work day??? Please!

(1,977 posts)I worked in an office/ cubicle environment for 32 years. Eight years ago the company went bankrupt. I was out of work for three years. I finally got a job five years ago as a security guard. I'm a guard/elevator operator and don't miss the office work. I miss a lot of the people I worked with but NOT the meetings, bullshit "Mission Statements", and all the other crap that comes with working in an office.

(63,221 posts)OMG, office meetings are so painful! Sometimes I sit there wondering "Am I the only person here who actually wants to jump out the window right now? "
There are always a handful of people who love to hear themselves talk and just keep dragging out the meeting with their idiotic questions and meaningless observations.
I just want to bang my head on the table because I feel like the pain of a bruised skull would feel like heaven compared to having to listening to such people drone on endlessly.
