On July 29 I ordered 2 socks from Energy Fit Wear. I thought I ordered from Amazon but I guess I just googled "compression socks " and ordered the ones I needed.
I ordered through Pay Pal.
I never got the socks. I can't call the company. I have emailed customer service and they are just stalling and giving vague answers.
I must not have looked at the reviews because there is a warning from BBB that they have had multiple complaints of the company taking payments but not sending product or sending poor quality stuff.
Sounds like the company is going under.
I initiated a complaint thru PayPal.
Is there anything else I can do ir should be doing?

(18,816 posts)I have never had this problem ordering online before.
After this I will always go through Amazon. Or companies I know.
It's not a lot of money but I am out $27 and it's just the principal of the thing.
Oddly PayPal has limited my account this morning due to suspicious activity.

(14,487 posts)It just took a little time for them to investigate and the seller to miss a deadline to respond.

(13,821 posts)I had a similar problem and PayPal came thru. THEY refunded me the money and then went after the dirtbags... That's why I use them... protection..

(23,242 posts)They are very thorough and will most likely be able to recover the money you spent on the socks you didn't get...sometimes it takes a week or two but I'll bet you will be successful.
I bought updated Quickbooks software online last spring and paid through PayPal. When I received the email receipt, I noticed that the email for the vendor from whom I purchased the software was a gmail account and was immediately worried. Even though the vendor was called the "IntuitStore" they were most likely fraudulent and I'd been duped. I filed a complaint with a request for refund within minutes of the sale. It took two weeks but PayPal got my $130 back in full.

(14,600 posts)For payment through PayPal, open a dispute with your CC company. PayPal wont like it, but its faster than going through PayPals process.

(3,268 posts)I shop online and Paypal guarantees every purchase. i have used this several times in a disputed sale and never lost a dime. As a warning for private (non-company) purchases you will have the option of indicating if the money is for goods and services or friends and family-only goods and services purchases are guaranteed. Because of this be wary of items offered for sale that specify-"paypal friends and family" which allows a seller to receive the full amount specified without paying fees which are between 3-4% of the purchase price. What I do if I still want the item is add 4% to the asking price and send goods and services. If I will be ordering from the same source several times I will use G & S on several purchases until I feel I have a good relationship with the seller...

(32,531 posts)First I got a strange purchase charged to my debit card. Bank got the money back and change my debit card #. Then last month I got screwed by a company using my routing check #. Yesterday I changed both again. Now only use credit card for phone and online purchases. Live and learn.

When I was little we used to run to get the phone. It was always family or friends. Our first phone was a party line.
It's so ironic that I have a $600 phone and I can't use the phone part. We just text most of the time.

(14,487 posts)and I immediately thought of your post!
He was drunk-facebooking, saw an ad for a huge bean bag chair, which he thought would be fun for Netflix binging, so he clicked to order it. It was $99. It was like a month or more ago, so he totally forgot he ordered it. Apparently it just took so long because it came from China.
But instead of a bean bag chair, what he got was THIS, but it was inside of a small box labeled "bean bag chair." LMAO!
Thankfully he also used Paypal, so they should handle it for him.
