Just got an email receipt for $20.20 from ActBlue that went to "Be a Hero PAC" that I don't remember making. Whenever I make an online donation to anything, I immediately send myself an email, stating to whom it was sent & the amt. There's no record.
Am I getting senile?
The charge is still pending on my credit card acct.
I've written to ActBlue asking for more info. Not that "Be a Hero PAC" is not a worthy cause.
Just wondering if anyone here has donated to the PAC "Be a Hero" recently. Just feels weird since I cannot recall anything.
Thanks!
ON EDIT:
Review my browsing history & found that I'd signed a petition at "Progress America" site which took me to a donation page. Apparently I "accidentally" clicked a donate box for $20.20. But I don't recall doing that, AT ALL.
The petition - yes, the donate box - no. So, hmmm.
The petition was for "SIGN NOW: Health care is a human right!"
The donation box offered a $20.20 box & was automatic thru ACT BLUE, which has all my info. But I do not think I clicked that box.
(Ck'd my history at AB & learned I've made 248 donations in the last 14yrs!!! I had no idea.)

(28,117 posts)This is the 1st time I've ever questioned a donation. Ever.
I always & immediately send myself an email about the amt, who it's for, & what org name the charge will be coming into my cr card as, even before the org emails a receipt to me. Sometimes the org names are different than the sites' names.
Today, I sent no such email.
ActBlue is a good way to keep track of all donations to progressives. And it's a handy shortcut to making those donations.
