I could never make the choice of who is best overall. You cannot, at least I cannot and they both are in a world that cannot be easily touched.

I don't get into trying to determine who was better. Each has their unique talents and strengths and as you say, it takes nothing away from the others.

She was living in Los Angeles at the time. She wound up in a cardiac rehab class with . . . Ella Fitzgerald. She said it was pretty much worth the heart attack.

at Sea World in San Diego. It was just her, a piano (Oscar Peterson), Bass (Ray Brown I think) and percussion (I can't remember who). What an amazing group of musicians. One of the highlight concerts of my life.

I often listen to a recording of her and Louis to fall asleep to at night. They make me happy.
