I was outside and heard meowing; knew my cat was in the house, so looked around and saw this cat sitting on a transformer twenty feet in the air. I ran in the house and called the fire department and the electric company, then walked back out to see about him. I "meowed" at it, and it raised up and meowed back at me. My sister came out, and we talked for a minute or so. We weren't looking at the cat when we heard the electricity arc; by the time we turned to look at it, the cat was hitting the ground. I saw a little wisp of smoke come off its back paws, and smelled some burnt flesh, and figured it was fried. But miraculously, a minute later, it raised its head and meowed weakly--it had survived! I took it to an emergency vet (was late for Thanksgiving lunch!), who treated it and turned it over to a rescue shelter. I wish I knew what became of that cat; I could not have kept it because of my cat's insane jealousy. But I called that vet a couple days later, and he said it should make a full recovery. I hope it did.
