I feel like I'm living in some sort of apocalyptic movie.

So here's how I'd write the storyline.

It opens with everyone going about their usual days, then there is a whisper of something going on in a distant country. But no one is concerned, because it's so far away. As the days go by the chatter and news about a virus and deaths becomes more frequent and worrisome.

Scene switches a month later to a meeting of government officials of a large and prosperous country. They are listening to a very dramatic presentation about a serious virus that is rapidly spreading around the globe. The virus has a very high contagion and death rate. The country's Leader dismisses the threat as fake news. He is certain this is all a plot to ruin his reputation.

He's concerned any discussion or warnings to the public would upset the populace and it could mean a disaster for the people in control and his re-election. So the government continues to put out positive messages, while the professionals behind the scenes are frantically trying to figure out how to get the Leader on board.

They band together and come up with a plan. They will infect one of their members who has ongoing contact with the Leader. In their next meeting, the infected professional, grabs the Leader's hand for a hand shake and while they're shaking hands lets out a series of coughs.

The infected professional is taken into hiding to recover. However, the Leader, not knowing he's been infected, passes the infection along to members of his governing group and family. By the time it becomes apparent the Leader has become infected, almost everyone in his circle of advisors and officials have become infected and they have in turn infected others in their political organization.

The Leader with his already difficult breathing. his reliance on drugs and his advanced age becomes very sick with the virus. He dies shortly thereafter.

The person in line to succeed him is also ill with the virus and is unable to assume the Leadership post. The next in line is an opposition leader, who has been working with the professionals all along to try and save their country. That person now assumes the Leadership.

The health, science and security professionals take charge of the war against the virus and within months have the spread slowed and deaths begin to drop. While life may never again be the same, a sense of normalcy does begin to envelop the world.
