What's your favorite home isolation activity?

I keep busy catching up on procrastinated projects (cleaning closets, desk) but for entertainment there are movies, books, online contact, phone chats, playing with cat, who is delighted to have the company.

quilting, but I crochet. Most of my stitches are pretty basic, but I can use this time to pick up new ones online. In the past I have made Xmas tree ornaments for myself - stars, snowflakes , angels, bells. Had some custom requests last year. Maybe I can stockpile some to sell later this year. I use cord and colored twine/thread for them and add ribbon, beads for trim..

Also have lots of yarn, various colors. Can make hats and scarves to give to winter clothing drives for kids and hats for cancer center in my region. They give them to chemo patients.

One, I lined with a washed dryer sheet and the other I tried to felt a thin layer of cotton to it. I think for the next one I'm just going to double the silk and stitch it up. I like the idea of silk because it's light and breathable. I'm making them for me so if I ever go out in public again, wearing one will keep me from touching my face.

I'm actually a children's entertainer - mainly balloon twisting. I haven't had too many cancellations of gigs yet, and I'm being very careful on the gigs I do have, but they're mainly weekend gigs. I also still do some programming for a guy who owns a small website shop, but things are going to slow down there too I'm sure.

So lately I've had a lot of time to sew. I took a class so I could sew my own vests for my entertainment business and do different themes - holidays, local/state sports teams, etc. I've also got a bunch of old t-shirts (the oldest being from 1989) cut up and ironed onto fusibles, and from those I'm going to make five t-shirt quilts in different themes. Also, I should have paid attention to my sister a year ago when she told me that the Chiefs were going to the Superbowl (we're in Kansas City) as I could have been making kid's vests, pillow cases, table runners, etc. with Chiefs fabric to sell so I'm going to do that as well as try some teddy bears. If it goes well, I'll branch out to Royals and KU Jayhawk fabrics.

And now that winter is over I'm prepping my boat to go back in the water. That is what my wife calls my happy place.

Worry not, the boat yard isn't packed with people. I was the only person there yesterday. And when it's in the water it's a floating tiny house that I can take out fishing, all alone if I feel like it. But it has a bed, a head, and a galley, so I can isolate there just as easily as home.

But gardening keeps me sane during the winter. And baking bread.

It's very 'fallout in space' in terms of mechanics. Decent game but ultimately a bit unsatisfying ... I probably should've played on higher difficulty. I was pretty OP most of the game because I obsess on gearing up and micromanaging inventory. Did get a little challenging at the last level (the jail place) but still mostly a cakewalk.

Speaking of apocalyptic shooters ... did you ever play any of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games?

Many great artists loved portraying the playing of instruments or of singing going back centuries. I have one essay on the Ghent Altarpiece and its history of being repeatedly pillaged over its history, the latest being the Nazis in WW2. Helluva story. You might have seen it in "The Monuments Men."

Stories like that. Over many centuries there are quite a few. Just started one essay on Picasso's "Three Musicians."

Frankly, it is overwhelming but so much fun to read about! I love doing research.

not remember album covers except one that I doubt. many people saw or would be interested in. It was not by any one person or group, but a collection of works from the early 60s by the original music artists. Do not remember what the album was called. Bought it in the 70s while out shopping. The cover was a circle with "spokes" radiating out from the center in alternating orange and yellow.

I had several albums, but I guess I paid more attention to what was on the LP than on the cover.

Sounds like a good project from an interesting angle.

Know what you mean about research. In high school and college, I groaned with everyone else whenever we got research paper assignments. Procrastinated a few days, but once I got started, was totally absorbed. Sometimes found sideline angles and had to force myself to leave them. Felt like conducting an orchestra when pulling the written notes together and then like a canvas painter when touching up the drafts to final form. Was done when it "felt right."

So, have fun and enjoy the process.

scene had changed from the early to mid 60s (Chubby Checker, Supremes, Beach Boys) to the sounds of the Beatles, Animals, Doors, Led Zeppelin, etc., some "oldies" collections of the early 60's were produced.

I still have the LP, minus the paper jacket and cardboard cover. The artwork from the cover is reproduced on the record label. It was put out by Roulette. I don't see a date on it. Songs and artists include Loddy Lo by Chubby Checker; Forget Him-Bobby Rydell; Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Bop-Little Anthony and Imperials; Two Faces Have I-Lou Christie; El Watusi-Ray Barretto; Hooka Tooka-Chubby Checker; Shout-Joey Dee; Till Then-The Classics.

Found some other old LPs tucked away in the closet when I dug this one up. Some have covers; some don't. None in good enough condition for collecters (damn). I had forgotten about them since I have nothing to play them on. They include:

Doors-LA Woman; Aftermath-Rolling Stones; Melanie (that's the title and the artist); Jim Croce-Photographs and Memories (greatest hits); 4 Way Street-Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

The condition of the albums is due to my ex, who was usually too high to know where he was, let alone where the album covers were.

Twitter or Facebook, try to reach Stephen King, or go to his website. There must be a way to contact him there. He's around my age and is a big fan of 60's and 70's rock. Makes references to various artists, albums, and especially guitarists in his books.

Our business is such that I don’t have to see customers in person. They call me on the phone, order our product and I ship it out. Most of our customers are sole proprietors. Most of them are rwnj’s too, unfortunately. I took 12 orders today and all 12 of these MAGAts complain how this whole thing is stupid and an overreaction. Idiots.

If I get some isolation time I plan to have my spring yard work done and out of the way...I am making a new bed for raspberries and will put in a new herb bed too.

I did a desk, table, and bookcase. Haven't done it for a while, but now there's another table and desk I want to do. Best part is when you get compliments on how nice they look from people who don't know that you refinished them.

into trouble with a neighbor because my indoor-outdoor cat had figured out how to open the latch on his rabbit pen. Several bunnies turned up missing. Don't know how many the cat got and how many just ran for it when the door was open

Also had a border collie who was a pet, but had such strong hunting instincts that he tracked rabbits and flushed birds without any training. Hubby wanted to use him for hunting but I flat out refused. The dog had a tri color coat with a lot of sable. Coloring and size put him at risk of being shot for a fox by some drunken or stupid hunter.
