My standard in music is that melody is everything and lyrics are secondary. Any melody can have its lyrics (if any) stripped and have others substituted, even nonsense words, and the melody is supreme.
Anyway, I got an earworm for this song from hearing it on a Dior perfume commercial, where (proving my point) the references to alcoholism were deleted.
When I posted it in Lounge, an admirer of Sia and the song gave me a small lesson about how the song was profound in describing Sia's multiple problems with addiction, suicide attempts, and relationships. I countered with, all I care about (in music) is being grabbed by a wonderful MELODY, almost never know what the lyrics are about, sometimes looking into them AFTER the melody has hooked me. Usually, a wonderful MELODY is matched with appropriately good lyrics, but even so it's to complement the wonderful MELODY.
I shouldn't digress. But the O.P.'s rendition is absolutely lovely and set me off.
