Haven't heard that term for a while.

I once snuck off base at the JRTC during my unit's rotation there to meet up with a girl. The night had a happy ending...

15. I was at Beuamont TX loading

ships for the Army Reforger exercises in the late 70s.....our support facility was Ft Polk. Much later, I worked for a defense contractor and had to go to Ft Polk in 2005. It was like a time warp...the same used car lots, fast food joints, strip joints etc were still there. Maybe different names, but they were still there. Last time I was there a couple of years ago it was the same with the exception of Walmart and a lot of small businesses gone.

16. I lived on Ft. Polk for a year when my Dad was stationed there circa 1972.

My strongest memories are of the family across the street, with whom we had close ties.

8. Should I drive to see my daughter in Denver?

She is giving birth to her first child as I am writing this. I live in Madison. I was tested for covid-19 last week because of my age and symptoms. The test was negative and my symptoms are gone. I'm getting conflicting opinions and I'm not sure what to do.
Care to wade in?
