I have no clue. When a melody grabs me, that's all. "Dance Monkey"

Just saw the performance on (FALLON?). Somebody in trucker garb. Totally my "hook" kind of music. (I have *ZERO* idea what the lyrics are about, so don't get me started.)

3. Thanks, overall I love the sound/everything, but not the song.

I'm all for a HOOK type of melody. I wouldn't play other songs by the same artist over again, just the ONE song that HOOKED me. When somebody asks me, "Do you like Country (insert any genre here), I say, I like one song by so-and-so, three by so-and-so, and on and on. And this goes for almost all other genres.

Well, this person is great, whether I only listen to one song. I'll research more to see what her thing is, whether she does the composing, whether she's got a particular slant or angst, whether she's got a Sia kind of tragic history (which won't influence my taste of the music).

On another note, when I went to your link one of the other songs was something about have-you-ever-seen-the-rain, and I clicked on it thinking it was a cover of *that* song, which it isn't, but I didn't think somebody could do a different take on *that* phrase!1 Thanks again.

She's just a kid, like 17. She writes her own stuff, started as a street performer which she still does I think.

Dance Monkey is a take on how her audience would demand performance from her.

5. It's so wonderful you didn't take offense at my comments! Writes her stuff is a bigger deal.

The three songs I heard have a distinct sound, plucked intro.

So weird that she's 17 - how could she street perform so young?!1

Wow, just let it sink in what you said about how dance-monkey = audience demanding performance!1 To this day, I detest live performances. I was in the high school band, meaning marching (IN PUBLIC) and then CONCERT season (for an audience) and also ensemble competition (for judges and later PERFORMING for Ladies Clubs). I'm an introvert, although my erratic "performances" in Lounge amount to playing the clown in public. I never go to live performances, but when I've seen egotistical performers I have literally (tactfully) WALKED OUT.

I am repulsed by PERFORMING LIKE A MONKEY!1
