1. Yes! I was trying to save an email and it wouldn't end. I finally had to open a new AOL file.

The new file I opened is doing OK. She might try that.

2. OK, thakns. It kind of looks like they're just swamped today by everyone logging in at once.

Is AOL still a thing?? I remember all those free floppy disks that seemed to be everywhere.... in 1997! I know a few people who still have AOL addresses, but it seems kind of quaint these days.

6. I switched to gmail, but hated it. I went back to AOL because it is less cluttered and clear.

Today has been a problem for some reason. I'm guessing security issues, although I have not witnessed any problems except they are locking up.

Just happened again.

And it told me that the account had been closed due to inactivity! I can't remember the last time I used an AOL address.

Does it still say "You've got mail" when you log in?

I was on the phone, one night, and the person I was talking with said, "You sure get a lot of emails." AOL had a method of cutting way down on spam and unwanted advertisements via email. It was a great improvement to get rid of those.

and I get the occasional call for help too. I *do* have her password, so I can log in and usually resolve whatever issue she's having.

I tried to get her to switch to gmail years ago but now, at 93, I'm just glad she's using the computer at all!

(She got my email this morning, so looks like hers is working okay. If it's traffic related, Mom's an early bird and may have avoided the issue.)
