The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsLocal TopsMarkets seems to be overcharging for 7 UP. What do you think?
$7.69 for a six pack of 12 ounce bottles.Schweppes Ginger Ale was only $4.99 for the same size.
The store is located in New Paltz, NY. It's a college town. The neighborhood is a mix of older (well maintained) homes, new homes, several apartment complexes.
The only other supermarket in town is ShopRite. In an on line search, ShopRite doesn't seem to carry 7 UP six packs.
I still have my receipt because I'm considering calling in a complaint for price gouging.

What say you? Call and complain or buy big bottles then transfer to a go-cup for car rides. | |

(8,445 posts)Before the panic buying started, I bought four six packs of the little cans for $8, so they were $2 apiece. I believe that the six packs of 12 oz bottles were the same price at the time. I hardly ever drink pop, which is why I got the smallest size. It's all still in my fridge.

(72,300 posts)Back in the early Fall, I suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. Had trouble keeping anything in my stomach for a few weeks.
7up was in short supply locally. It was either drink Sprite or drive 20 miles each way to find 7UP in smaller bottles.

(14,637 posts)I used to be hooked on Diet Coke, but I can't remember the last time I had one. And I hated water. But now it's become my drink of choice. No calories and it's free (we have a well).

(72,300 posts)The well water here is loaded with minerals that clog my coffee pot quickly. I buy bottle water by the gallons for the birds, puppy and Mr. ITW.
We changed to decaf 2 years ago thanks to doctor's order for Mr. ITW.
Nice to see you again, AirmensMom.

(8,445 posts)I got a water dispensers a few years ago, and refill the five gallon bottles at my grocery store for 39 cents a gallon. Up until last week I was using it for making coffee too, but I'm trying to conserve so I now use a Brita pitcher to filter water for coffee and cooking. My Keurig is going on three years, and I don't really descale it that often.
The water is delicious and icy cold out of the dispenser, so I tend to drink a lot more of it.

(14,637 posts)No sipping with ice through a straw. Just gulp it down 12 oz. at a time. And I use a filter.
Nice to see you too. Stay healthy!
