It was a nice surprise. I wasn't expecting it because I thought I read that SS recipients were going to get them later in the month. But I do have income from other things so maybe that was it.

I file income taxes, but got a nice refund, this year. I'm anxiously awaiting that $$ so I can use it to write some campaign contribution checks.

7. As I understand it, they are being deposited into accounts now

if you filed a 2018 or 2019 tax return and have used direct deposit for tax refunds before, regardless of whether you get social security. I'm a SS recipient and I got mine today (filed tax returns and used direct deposit).
