You all have been so caring and supportive. Thanks so much.
Had face-time with mom and the rest of my family about an hour ago.
Mom looks MUCH better than she did last week when we first heard of her diagnosis. On that day (Thursday) the report was that she was having a lot of difficulty breathing... we were sure we were going to lose her.
She is on oxygen, but the staff at her facility say that she often pulls out the tube. When she does keep it in, her oxygen level is pretty good. It does look to me like her breathing is still a bit labored.
She is much more alert.
She has no appetite, which I understand is quite common in Coronavirus patients. The staff is encouraging her to drink fluids, and she is.
She sleeps most of the time.
Mom was never all that tech savvy. She didn't seem to realize that she could talk to us, but I don't know that I would expect her to, given the dementia. She was reacting when we spoke, and that made me pretty happy.
So very thankful that the staff at her home is willing to help us so that we can see her and talk to her.

(81,220 posts)That could be part of the reason your mom has no appetite. Not a doctor here, though!
I'm glad she's doing better!
Thanks for the report, MissMillie! I hope she continues to improve. It'll be good for you all.
