Back to drinking "cheap" coffee now. Oh, my! So what is your toughest COVID-19 "offering"

(I surely won't say "sacrifice" given the magnitude of what is going on. So, a "foregoing" or "offering" or what are you missing most?)

And yes, high-quality coffee is still readily available, but I just don't think I can justify it right now... But, oh my... There IS a real difference. Yikes!

I think it may be time to switch to cold-brewed as it is much more forgiving of poor quality coffee.

I am conserving the few dishwasher pods I still have, since we can't find any more.

I don't have a terrible amount of dishes so not a hardship really, other than putting pressure on my R hand, being that I had an old bike injury to that hand (which has been acting up w/ the changing weather (Spring is coming)).

We're fine as is, perhaps not going on a regular Spring trip out of town, when SO is off, but I think we're both fine w/ not traveling during this time.

Not buying near as much meat (replacing w/ other sources such as dried beans, etc.). Don't want to stress out the industry (and put meat packing workers in harms' way, until better and safer ways are developed to process meat products).

you're right, it is time to use up the 'good' stuff. When we moved, we forgot where / what cabinet had all of the liquor in it and finally found it. We have all of the stuff (hard stuff) still, but don't drink anything else but beer for the most part. And I haven't made any homemade wine for a while, but I still have a couple of bottles of it still left. I think I'll hang onto in case I need to trade for some toilet paper (ha ha).

Take care and be safe!

But, it seems two screws fell out somewhere within the mounting frame and I can't see where. Well, the damned thing nearly tips out on me whenever I open it, but... still working. So, I have this balancing act I have to go through to load and unload it, but... still working...

And I have found enough pods to last several more weeks.

Kroger Colombian.

Arabica beans. I might stop drinking coffee if I could only get Robusta beans. Never going back!

The only positive for Robusta is that they contain more caffeine.

I'll have to see if Kroger's-owned King Soopers carries the Kroger's Columbia.

The flavor seems pretty unique compared to every generic Colombian coffee that I’ve tried, so maybe you won’t like it?

I wonder who makes it? I heard in the past that Kroger usually just slaps their label on other products, but I’ve never had coffee that tastes like it. It’s definitely not Maxwell House, Folger’s, etc. McCafe Premium Roast (Medium) was probably the closest that I’ve tried, but it’s still not a good match.

I also just noticed that the label says 100% Colombian, but not Arabica. I thought it used to have that on the label, but maybe I’m imagining it? They’re definitely not Robusta beans, as far as I can tell. Not bitter, unlike all of the Robusta bean coffee that I regularly drank years ago.

I haven't bought a domestic lager in years. Maybe I've become somewhat snooty in my IPA old age. About 6 weeks ago I bought two cases of PBR, put them in the garage. FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY. Well, the two cases have magically turned into an 11-pack or less and with no real emergency. Can't explain it.

IPA's are still the bomb, but next visit to the store might see me bringing home some Budweiser, FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY.

Before he graduated from university, he'd occasionally come home extolling the virtues of PBR. I'd usually just shake my head and say "what are they teaching you up there?" It wasn't till later I discovered that there was a trendy aspect to that stuff. At +/- $15.00/case compared to +/- $10.00/six pack, I guess a practical aspect too.

A small amount of dark espresso roasted bean improves the flavor of that economy Robusta crap significantly. Also, keep an eye open for the dark roasted economy bean; some brands are not half bad.

Be on the lookout for a DARK roast; an espresso grind simply gives up it seductive robust flavors much easier.

I've been working from home full-time since 2012 so that part wasn't a big adjustment for me.

But I really counted on a daily trip to the gym or to the coffee place just to be out of the house for some minimal human contact. It's a struggle to be homebound nearly all the time.
