(56,890 posts)I have flat screen TVs, but they don't have digital outputs. They don't even have analog video signal outputs. They have stereo audio signal outputs to drive an A/V receiver, but I couldn't even record a tape from any of my flat screen TVs.
I thought DVRs were getting to be an endangered species. Do any have built-in digital tuners?

(21,059 posts)it was very wrong of me to just assume that everyone had a means to record any program that was on the tv. My apologies.

(56,890 posts)I could record stuff.
I watch TV over the air, not via cable, satellite, or the Netflix/Hulu/Roku method.
I know there are tuner dongles that I can use with a computer. I was hoping to limit the complexity of the process. Back in the VCR days, it was easy to record off the air.
