I'm not a Luddite

But. . .

I am devoted to my more than 10-year-old Microsoft Zune. I've had the screen replaced a few times, a battery too, I think. I dread the day when it dies and I have to buy a new 15-year-old device, and there are profiteering fuckers out there counting on people like me.

Anyone else, or am I alone in my devotion?

or at least inclined to that tendency.

I still use Windows XP on a 20+ year old Gateway desktop running AutoCad's LDDT 3 to professionally draft maps of all kinds. If that doesn't quite qualify for Luddite-idness, playing 200-300 year old tunes on a 100 year old fiddle might. No? How about listening to those tunes through a 40+ year old Harmon Kardon 330B?

Actually, my take is more than just tools of the day but rather a personal philosophy of appreciating things for what they are or what they once meant and not falling for the flashy, bright, new thing just because it's the latest and greatest.
