Fruits are a subclass of vegetables. Anything that is a fruit is also a vegetable.
Also, grains are fruits.
Also, hot dogs are sandwiches. As are tacos.
These statements will be completely uncontroversial.

I agree that many things that some call vegetables (like tomatoes and avocados for example) are clearly also fruits, but ...
I think the confusion is because there are separate 'botanical' and 'culinary' definitions of these terms.
