I think that I have gained 15 to 25 pounds. I've been stress eating since March. Couple that with no gym, and I have packed on the pounds.
I use my gym to relieve my stress which controls my eating. Without working out, my eating habits get out of control.
I've been taking long walks, but it's dangerous because so many people are irresponsible. They're not wearing masks. People are hanging out.
I've got to clean up my diet next week.
I've lost five pounds.
Weird, huh?

(2,015 posts)I'm working from home so I'm cooking all of my meals instead of grabbing food on the go so I'm eating a lot healthier.
I dance for exercise so I've been dancing around the apartment, no other people to avoid I just have to try not to trip over the cats.

(115,603 posts)Started a diet in January, have lost 25 lbs. It's been relatively easy because I'm holed up at home and order groceries online for delivery, and since I'm not walking around in a grocery store I'm not tempted to buy sweets or other things I shouldn't eat. I still need to lose maybe another 20 lbs., which I hope I can do by fall.

(2,021 posts)...because I'm not eating as much. I used to go to Golden Corral and spend a couple of hours chowing down and reading five or six days a week. I got most of my best reading time in there, in fact. They had really good prices along with a senior discount from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The last time I ate there was March 10. Now, I doubt if buffet-style restaurants ever will make a comeback. I'm eating take-out or opening a can of canned vegetables and a can of some of kind of canned meat, or making sandwiches, and yes, I'm getting less exercise, but also eating a lot less. And reading a lot less. I've read only one novel in these nine or ten weeks. I used to read one a week or so.

(25,225 posts)Working out at home. Cooking healthy meals. Counting calories. Not eating out at restaurants. Not snacking during the day.
I'm sleeping better - almost 8 1/2 hrs per night. My blood pressure is down to normal.
Stay-At-Home has been good to me. I'm targeting 148 lbs as my ideal weight. I have 8 more lbs to lose and I'm gonna do it.

(2,216 posts)I was not happy with my weight when this started but I had hopes because my BFF moved in with me and she is addicted to the gym so I knew I would be going regularly with her.
But NO. Everything closed and I was forced to stay at home....eating.
I mean, this is bad, like the worst weight problem in my entire 72 years of fighting the weight battle. I honestly don't know what the number is; my best scale died and needs a new battery, and my other scale is buried under dirty clothes in the bedroom.
But I know what clothes fit me for when I leave the house to pick up my grocery order, and they are NOT the clothes that fit me in February. That is scary as shit to me.
I have no enthusiasm for dieting right now, in the midst of trying to understand how long I am going to have to stay away from the world.
I am doomed to die fat, with an epitaph: she was still trying to lost those last 10 pounds.
At the moment it would read: those last 70 pounds.

(8,318 posts)I go grocery shopping once/week, usually early when the stores open. I wear a mask and am social distance, but limit my excursions to once a week. This takes more planning and creativity, making a flexible, weekly meal plan, plus extra fruits and veggies as they show up on the produce rack, in season. If I don't have an ingredient, I substitute, something else.
I weighed a couple of pounds more, a few months ago, when I went out shopping 2-3 times a week, just for the fresh produce, that said I got tempted and bought more desserts, and fresh baked artisan bread, too.

I did have to buy some of those button extensions for my summer shorts to give me a little extra room.

(7,588 posts)I know, those meals (and snacks) are already planned. I also go to the gym most days during normal times. I estimate I've put on 5-10 pounds. I'm going to get on the scale next week...

According to impotus, if we dont test, we dont have Covid cases. If I dont step on the scale I have not gained weight 😬

(63,221 posts)hanging off me. I'm just not very hungry the way I am at work, where I seem to be starving all the time. I think I stress eat when I am there. I have never been a snacker, but I eat much heavier lunches at work than I do at home.
These days, I will have maybe one or two small meals a day and no snacks. However, I am not getting much exercise which needs to change. I plan to get out for walks now that the lockdown is starting to lift, but I am also going to be very careful.

(111,161 posts)I'm now down 56 pounds over two and a half years since I tapered the Prednisone down. I can't claim to have my girlish figure back, but it's getting time to buy some smaller clothes because it looks like it's not coming back this time.
I haven't been hungry at all, it's just sort of fallen off.

(25,816 posts)It sort of helps that from March 1 to March 18 I was on a cruise, and at the beginning I decided I would NOT gain weight. So I ate less than I might have, didn't indulge in the many indulgences available.
At home I weigh myself every day. I couldn't do that on the cruise, but I could keep track of how my clothes fit. Those fittings stayed the same.
And since then, during this quarantine, I've been limiting what I eat and have lost about another five pounds. Hooray! I would like to get down another fifteen or twenty pounds, but I'll stay with what is working.
