Our street has like 3 houses getting painted this week, had 2 get painted last week. Have seen 2 others getting landscaping/decks built. Maybe we are outliers cause of word of mouth or something but it seems like people are working hard and paying a lot now to get stuff done.

I hired my lawn care service for other services as well. I will be buying some bushes and dirt for plantings around the yard.

(14,624 posts)One guy in particular has a different home improvement project just about every day.
He replaced portions of his wood fence, sanded and painted the exterior side of the windows, did some landscaping, and for several days, he was going to town with mechanical equipment that was out of my view. I think he built a flux capacitor. I would ask him to go back in time and stop Dumpy, but I think this guy is a MAGAt.

(102,234 posts)hail storms. I haven't encountered a "quiet" neighborhood (sans near-constant hammering and heavy construction crews) in months. At least they are doing a better job retrieving their errant roofing nails, something for which my sweet pup's feet (and the tires on my car) are feeling relief.

I got quotes last fall and this was the first opportunity to knock it out.
Something is happening across the street but I think they are getting ready to sell. Meanwhile there are two houses under construction on our tiny street. I think this is normal but now everyone is home to see it.

(34,136 posts)Dry wall guys were supposed to show up yesterday, still not here. This is typical and why the job is taking longer than estimated. The other part is that materials do not arrive when promised - like the dry wall. The crew can't put up drywall that is not on site.
Originally, the contractor said it wold be done by the end of April. Right now, it's looking as though it won't be finished by the end of June.
Nearly half our downstairs is empty and we're paying for storage units for most of our stuff. I want my house back!
