He or she had entered via the driver's door, checked out the back seat, and exited the through the passenger's side door, leaving a few muddy prints, but having shut both doors.

Someone else parked on an angle with the driver's side high. That bear got in easily, but couldn't get out. In the morning, the bear was still sitting in what was left of the driver's seat in a badly mauled interior.
