He had learned water came from bottles, and humans had the bottles. Somewhere along the way he learned behaviors that resulted in getting water from captivated humans.

I'm impressed.

There's several of them in the trees and bushes around my apartment.

They caused a couple of transformer explosions in the past that about made me crap my pants, setting off several car alarms too, but thankfully the power company just moved it elsewhere after the second explosion. Squirrels with their hairs blown off were found near the transformers each time.
