I'm now running my new WIN 10 HP Slim puter and what an improvement it is! Comments below:

I finally figured out that my old WIN 7 unit was on its last legs due to the following reasons:

1. My Malwarebytes scans that initially took 15 minutes had begin to take from 30 to 45 minutes.
(A full scan takes around 2 minutes on my son's unit and it's the same with my new one.)

2. I was getting many "Internet disconnected" popups from my Netgear Genie. I'd always check
my sons machine and he kept on working just fine. Since we run through the same router the
only conclusion I could make was that it was time to upgrade my puter. So I have!

Two things that haven't changed with this upgrade are the video problems with viewing the
CBC/Canada news website...not my problem. And Firefox still has to be re-booted at least once
a day. Again, not my problem but that's good to know.

I'll keep my old WIN 7 unit and retire my XP machine (that still works). At least until I can run the
pics on my old 7 unit off on disk but then I've got nothing but time.

A happy puter makes for a happy puter geek!

on NextDoor, said I would only give them to families with schoolchildren.

Almost immediately, I got takers! The local school system is somehow expecting kids to do online school without computers.

One was the cutest little blue mini-computer, just right for a kid.

However... if I still had an XP computer, I might keep it. I was fond of that OS, as fond as one can be for a computer operating system!

I've never quite quit mourning that I can't use WordPerfect 5.1 anymoe.

What sold me is that I bought one of these HP Slim units a couple years ago. He runs it 24/7
streaming gaming content and it's still going strong. That convinced me!

My wife upgraded her HP laptop xmas time after several years. We’ve had good luck with them so far.

Enjoy it.

If nothing else, flash is so much faster than spinners. Cooler and lighter too.
