back. She was up against a couple guys from major universities, I think one was Texas. In the first round is a category Deuteronomy something. I thought bullshit! Just handing her a bunch of wins, and she ran the table on that one, or real close to it. She got a big lead, then those guys crushed her the rest of the way.

I haven't seen enough of those to know. Do they usually give the kids a gift category like that? If so, then I suppose that would be fair. But what are the odds that would be random with her playing? It was telling that she was hopeless with the rest of the questions. Like what their degrees are worth outside the evangelical industrial complex.

and yes I'll never forget how Miss Liberty knew the Deuteronomy category. I howled with laugh that night.

6. There was only one time I watched where I know I would have ran a category. It was Fab Four.

Somehow they found three pretty sharp contestants that knew almost nothing about The Beatles. They either missed or were really slow with the button. I think they got a few after the first guy missed.

I don't think they ever answered any question about tailor made categories, but given the show's reputation for integrity, I would doubt that such things happen.

In her case, those were pretty much the only questions she could answer. IIRC she tried to answer a couple of others and really missed them. Bible based questions are a fairly frequent category.

I may be wrong here, but I seem to recall that when the Friendly Atheist, Hemant Mehta was on there was a bible based category and he did fairly well in it. If not true I just made up a fun story.

then when she told the guy he should bet everything I realized something was wrong.
On the other hand, when (as she told us) you travel overseas with your toy dinosaurs to take pics, you may have some serious 'baggage"

I'm a psychologist, retired, but that whole excessive performance gave me the heebee-jeebees. She had no impulse control. Who knew what she was going to do next? <shiver>
