(3,022 posts)Manfred Mann only had one other hit that I know of. That was Quinn the Eskimo or Mighty Quinn a song seemingly inspired by the Anthony Quinn character in A Savage Inocense. Who wrote that song, Bob Dylan, and who, when he was introduced, was known as the "new" Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen. If only there had been more Bob Dylans Manfred Mann may have had even more hits.

(64,854 posts)But, it's really not a very good song.
The 2 you mentioned were big hits & good songs. And, I'm not a Springsteen guy. But, that song had a structure those guys could really dress up.
Do Wah Diddy was just a novelty hit that worked because the British Invasion was at its zenith.
If you look up their hit list, there's a lot of songs that aren't memorable.

(3,022 posts)that was them. I stand corrected apparently Manfred Mann had more of a career than I was aware of. Mighty Quinn and Blinded by the Light both were solid songs that I still enjoy, Do Wah Diddy maybe not so much.
